Re-defining Value – The Manufacturing Revolution. Remanufacturing, Refurbishment, Repair and Direct Reuse in the Circular Economy introduces the new, overarching term, Value-Retention Processes (VRP) describing manufacturing processes that retain value within a circular system (versus linear system) – and details the superior benefits of Remanufacturing.

This report reinforces VRP benefits including cutting industrial waste between 80 and 99 percent; greenhouse gas emissions reduction by 79 to 99 percent; and strengthening existing markets and as well as assisting in identification of new market segments.

Dr. Nabil Nasr’s research interests include remanufacturing, circular economy, life cycle engineering, cleaner production and sustainable product development. He founded RIT’s Center for Remanufacturing and Resource Recovery, a leading source of applied research in remanufacturing technologies. He is also CEO of the REMADE Institute, a national coalition working together on new clean energy initiatives and serves as a member of the International Resource Panel of the United Nations Environment Programme. He has been an expert delegate with the U.S. Government in international forums such as the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, United Nations, World Trade Organization, and OECD.
